Benefit from two expert guide services – Bulgarian and local Macedonian expertise. Cover ground comfortably using our air-conditioned coach or minivan, then explore key sights such as Skopje’s fortress, Matka Lake, St Kliment Ohridski Church, Kale Fortress, Museum of the City of Skopje, Stone Bridge, Porta Macedonia Monument, Memento Park (House for Mother Teresa), and the Grand Bazaar, all while gaining valuable insight from both guides throughout the journey. On this guided excursion, enjoy an opportunity to see what many consider to be among the quirkiest towns found anywhere across the Balkans peninsula; today's Skopje stands proudly at once as a collection of genuine relics dating back through centuries right up until its recent transformation under the 'Skopje 2014' urban renewal plan which has seen much of the old town rebuilt along Neo-Classical lines featuring elaborate colonnades and statues atop rooftops depicting mythical creatures known locally as Nymphs. Following completion of work on creating this brand new centrepiece area according to plans set out beneath ‘Skopje 2014’, life breathed anew into parts previously deemed derelict areas saw them transformed instead into some of eastern European tourism hotspots that are now attracting visitors worldwide who come here seeking not only cultural immersion but also architectural inspiration!
