DAN LALIBELA TOURS
Day -1 Fly to Lalibela
Fly to Lalibela and take the airport transfer to the town and visit the rock-hewn churches.
After checking in at your hotel, we'll drive to sites where we find a concentration of some of Ethiopia’s most famous rock-hewn churches, often referred to by many as “the living wonders of the world.” These churches have been standing there for over 900 years; they are still used today as Christian shrines and serve as both a spiritual centre and focal point of the nation's religious life. We then head off to see the Northwestern cluster of these unique churches which includes Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Golgotha.
Following lunch, proceed to explore the southeastern cluster of Lalibela churches including Bet Gabriel-Rufael, Bet Merkorios, Bet Amanuel, and Bet Abba Libanos. Finally, pay homage to the crown jewel among them—Bet Giyorgis (St.George), a massive monolith shaped like a cross built in honour of Saint George who happens to be also known as the Patron Saint of Ethiopia. Day -2 Drive from Lalibela to Semera
Post early morning meal, depart from Lalibela towards Semera amidst breathtaking landscapes covering approximately 350km distance that takes around seven hours driving time. Over night accommodation : Kuriftu Resort Semera
Day -3 Semera–Hamedela
Breakfast followed by approx five to six hour journey leading us directly to Hamadela en route stopping briefly at Lake Afdera for our midday meals perhaps allowing enough leisure time to enjoy swimming too! Next up visiting another picturesque spot near campsite later during day when heading out toward Lake Assale featuring vast expanse of shimmering white Salt Flats accompanied by relaxing moments sipping local wines/beers under open sky surrounded by captivating views...
