Kilimanjaro Safaris, or 'KLM Safaris' for short, is a Tanzania registered travel and tourism operator with Reg. No. 100437 based in Moshi, Kilimanjaro. The company directors are professionals in the tourism & travel industry, particularly in the field of trekking adventures, wildlife safaris, cultural exploration, and beach holidays, with over 12 years of experience. Our ambition is to work as a team of professionals to deliver tourism products that will meet our customers’ satisfaction. We have a qualified management team with experience in African wildlife tourism safaris, Kilimanjaro Mountain trekking, and volunteering with both local and international tour operators. For the past 12 years, our team has been involved in planning and managing tours ranging from solo, family, and small group travel. Also, the team has been widely involved in volunteering projects with poor rural communities in areas not limited to medical, educational, entrepreneurial, environmental and conservation, and community development. Mkomazi National Park Day Tour

Mkomazi National Park is a hidden gem in Tanzania, known for its rich biodiversity and scenic landscapes. The journey takes approximately 4-5 hours from Arusha or Moshi, offering picturesque views of the Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival you'll complete the entry formalities then your guide will provide an overview of the day's itinerary and highlight key attractions. The park features a variety of landscapes, including open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and rolling hills. It is home to significant populations of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, predators and various antelope species. One of the park's highlights is its black rhino sanctuary, dedicated to the conservation of the critically endangered black rhino. Mkomazi is a birdwatcher's paradise, with over 450 species recorded. Bird enthusiasts can enjoy a picnic lunch at designated picnic sites, often situated in scenic locations. After lunch, visitors can visit the African Wild Dog Project, where rare and endangered predators are actively protected and bred for release into the wild. The park offers more game drives or optional guided nature walks, allowing visitors to get closer to the flora and smaller fauna of the park. As the day winds down, a final game drive is undertaken to spot any missed wildlife, providing excellent opportunities for photography and game viewing. After a fulfilling day of exploration and wildlife viewing, guests will return to Arusha or Moshi, arriving back at their hotel in the early evening. Kilimanjaro Climbing to Mandara Hut

In the morning, you will be picked up from your accommodation facility in Moshi and then drive to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860 m), a journey of about one hour. Upon arrival you will finish all necessary formalities. Then, you will start your trek soon, finding yourself amidst the lush Kilimanjaro rainforest. As you hike, you'll encounter impressive vegetation and might spot black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and various bird species. Our English-speaking guide will share information about Kilimanjaro, explaining the different plants and animals you come across. After hiking for 3-4 hours, you'll arrive at Mandara Hut (2700 m) for a well-deserved rest and lunch. Your guide will then lead you on a short 15-minute hike to Maundi Crater, where you can enjoy stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania, and Kenya. After soaking in the views, you will hike back to the Marangu Gate (a 2–3-hour walk), where your vehicle will be waiting to transfer you back to your accommodation facility. Lake Chala Day Trip

Lake Chala Safari Camp is a small game reserve situated at the western slopes of Kilimanjaro near the Kenyan-Tanzanian border, about two and a half hours' drive from Moshi and 8 km from Taveta. The reserve name is derived from Lake Chala, which is a unique caldera lake, also known as Dschalla, with a depth of more than 3000 m, believed to be the deepest inland water body in Africa. Lake Chala Safari Camp is a beautiful private game reserve overlooking Lake Chala. You’ll arrive there, and our guide will take you to the different viewpoints where you can explore many things, including flora and fauna. Then later the guide will take you down to the lakeside, through vividly green flora, with the blue, blue lake ahead of you. Its water is incredibly clear, and plenty of fish can be seen, but swimming is not highly recommended. The walk at the lake offers interesting views but is a bit challenging. It is common to spot lizards, baboons, different species of monkeys, and snakes. At Lake Chala Safari Camp there is a nice bar at the lake view where you can enjoy your drink after your tour. Marangu Cultural Village Tour

Marangu is a small town with a great amount of history and ancient traditions. Get carried away by the Chagga tribe, unique rainforest landscapes, and banana and coffee plantations. This day tour has it all: action, tradition, and culinary. The area around Marangu is home to the local Chagga tribe, and you will learn all about their history and traditions on this full-day excursion. We will have an opportunity to visit the Chagga underground caves. At this place we will visit a small coffee farm, where you will learn about how the coffee is grown, harvested, and processed locally. Try your own hand at processing, roasting, and preparing a fresh cup of organic coffee while dancing. We’ll spend a fascinating hour or so for this unique Kilimanjaro organic coffee tasting experience. Once you have finished enjoying your coffee break, our guide will then lead you through the coffee and banana plantations to the spectacular Ndoro Waterfalls flowing from the foothills of Kilimanjaro Mountain. On the way you will have the opportunity to take pictures of the mighty Kilimanjaro at the viewpoint and get a sense of the spirit of the mountain. Our hike to the base of the waterfall will lead us through lush green landscapes while spotting fauna and flora in the area. Here you have the opportunity to relax and take a refreshing bath in the cold pool of the waterfall and later drive back to Moshi. Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour

Materuni Waterfall is the highest and most impressive waterfall at the foothill of Mt. Kilimanjaro, located at the latitude. -3.25025° or 3° 15′ 1″ south; longitude. 37.40007° or 37° 24′ 0″ east. You’ll take a beautiful 40-minute hike through the hills and valleys route to the Materuni. The valleys and hills are covered by tropical rainforest, coffee plantations, and banana and avocado “shambas,” the Kiswahili word for farms. In the village you will learn sustainable agriculture, nature tourism, environmental conservation strategies, traditional flora and fauna, and their eco-interaction with the communities around. You will visit the village waterfalls and learn how the waterfalls contribute to the village's economic growth. After hiking, you will visit a coffee place and learn about how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and you will try your hand at roasting and preparing a fresh cup of coffee in a Chagga way. Then you will have traditional foods served in the traditional clay pots that make you close with the nature and culture. You will have a chance to see ‘Chagga Mamas’ who prepare the traditional foods in a practical way. Later, after your entire guide will drop you at your accommodation facility.
