Fayoum Oasis and Whale Valley
Fayoum oasis contains the bones and skeletons of millions of year old whales and they are still excavating more. It combines prehistoric, ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Ptolemaic and Islamic history. The Magic Lake and Qarun Lake both have unique histories and local stories whether real or part of local mythology. It is very interesting and enjoyable for both adults and children. We usually do this as a one day tour since it's only 2 hours away from Giza; however if you wish to stay overnight under the stars then that option is available too!
