The 10,000 hectare reserve is situated in the historical town of Touws River, nestled in a valley between the Langeberg and Outeniqua mountains in the Karoo region. From its beginnings as a haven for diverse antelopes, the sanctuary now boasts all five members of Africa's "Big Five" - elephants, lions, buffalos, rhinos and leopards - along with numerous free roaming wildlife inhabitants. Transfers are included both ways from Cape Town (a two hour thirty minute journey either direction).

Book a Traditional Cape Malay Cooking Experience

The Bo-Kaap is one of Cape Town’s most distinct neighborhoods and there is so much to see, taste and explore. To this day, the houses are a mix of Cape Dutch and Georgian architecture, in distinctive multi-colored rows on steep cobblestone streets. The choice of color is said to be due to the fact that all houses had to be white while rented. When this rule was eventually lifted and slaves were allowed to buy the lots, all the houses were painted bright colors by their owners as an expression of their freedom.
