Kyudo: An Authentic Japanese Archery Experience

You’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of Kyudo and enjoy shooting at your leisure over the course of approximately 1.5 hours. At the start, the staff will explain the safety protocol and basic techniques to use with the bow. From there you will start targets on our outdoor range. As you are guided through the methods, you'll learn more about Kyudo's history, the philosophy behind it, and how it differs from the traditions of western archery. After you've mastered the basics of Kyudo, you'll be able to use the remaining time to continue practicing on the range or try shooting in some of our more scenic locations in our private forest. *Due to the size and physical requirements of the Kyudo bows, this activity is intended for ages 15+* *Please note that we are located approximately 1.5 - 2.0 hrs away from Hiroshima Station by public transport*

Kyudo: An Authentic Japanese Archery Experience

You’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of Kyudo and get to shoot arrows at your own pace over a period of around 1.5 hours. To begin with, the instructors will go over the necessary safety protocols and fundamental technique when using the bow. After which, you can practice hitting targets set up outdoors. Throughout the session, an instructor will guide you through various aspects including the historical background of kyūdō, its underlying philosophies, and differences compared to Western styles of archery. Once comfortable with these foundational skills, feel free to spend additional time practising further out on the field or even take aim at one of several picturesque spots within our secluded woodland area. *Kyūdo requires specific equipment due to their unique design; therefore participants must be aged 15 years old or above.* *We would like to inform customers that travel times vary between JR Hiroshima station and our location but generally takes anywhere between 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours via local transportation services.*
