Madrid old essence

This tour reveals some secrets about the city’s origins at various points along a route through the old heart of Madrid, or “Magerit.” This 1200 year old city started out as a tiny arab fort and grew into one of the worlds biggest metro areas, home to around three million people. So how did that happen? Find out with Ruben. Not many other towns can boast quite the same rich tapestry of stories as ‘Magerit’. While this walking tour concentrates mainly on Hapsburg times there will also be glimpses back further still when madrid was just a little town plus sights dating right up until today including landmarks like The royal palace which dates back to bourbon rule. There were lots of interesting folk who walked these streets over time - both famous faces and not so familiar ones! And we shall discuss them too – Kings , Food , Customs Legends…all told with our own brand of humour . You really do learn something new by the end of your walk though ! Ready for an adventure ?
