Explore historic old bush vine vineyards and taste some of the finest organic wines from the small bodegas & Pago vineyards of Utiel-Requena. A VIP tour led by a professional WSET/Sommelier who makes his own red wine using grapes grown on an ancient autochthonous Bobal vineyard explains Spain's different types of grapes and how they are cultivated organically—a truly enlightening look behind the scenes to understand more about winemaking! You will meet bodega owners personally and sample their premium wines while gaining insights into less well known aspects such as cava production through sampling its most prized vintages. Travel across landscapes dotted with vines, almonds and olives that have been used for making wine since Phoenician times. We stop off in La Villa de Requena where there’ll be a walking tour around the town including visits to a castle dating back to the tenth century, local squares, Moorish cave dwellings and gothic style church buildings built during the reconquista period (thirteenth century). Visit two outstanding wineries producing over 90 points rated wines plus long matured cavas. Enjoy generous guided tastings featuring between nine and eleven samples which include pairings like PDO cured meats / cheese , chocolates and extra virgin olive oils.
