Exploring Quilmes Archaeological Ruins

This tour invites you to discover the Sacred City of the Quilmes, an archaeological site over 1,000 years old and the ancestral homeland of the Quilmes people, who were later forced to march over 1,300 km to the Río de la Plata by Spanish conquerors. The experience is presented as deeply personal and reflective, guided by an archaeologist and anthropologist with decades of research in the Calchaquí Valley. It goes beyond a typical excursion to explore history, culture, indigenous memory, and heritage. The tour includes: Pick-up at your accommodation or agreed meeting point in Amaicha del Valle. Visit to the Interpretation Center about the Quilmes site. Guided walk through reconstructed ruins and original remains. Free time to explore the site and local craft market. Return transfer. There are two options: a full 4-hour tour with a guide throughout, and a shorter 3-hour “express” option with less guided time. Prices are per trip, not per person, and the entrance fee to the Quilmes site is additional.
