This compact safari combines the scenic Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) journey with a focused wildlife experience in Mikumi National Park, designed for short-stay travelers, rail enthusiasts, and wildlife photographers.
On Day 1: You depart Dar es Salaam by SGR and enjoy countryside views en route. Upon arrival, a Kanuth Adventure Safaris representative meets you at the station and transfers you by 4x4 to Mikumi National Park. In the afternoon, you take your first game drive, then check in to your chosen lodge or tented campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Begins with an early-morning sunrise game drive, followed by breakfast, check-out, and transfer back to the SGR station for the return train to Dar es Salaam (exact timing depends on train schedules).
The package typically includes SGR train tickets (one-way or return as specified), meet-and-greet at the station, all transfers between station, park, and accommodation, park entry fees for Mikumi National Park, two game drives (afternoon of Day 1 and morning of Day 2), one night’s accommodation (lodge or tented campsite) with the specified meals (usually dinner Day 1 and breakfast Day 2), the services of a professional English-speaking safari guide/driver, bottled water in the safari vehicle, all applicable local taxes and service charges, and coordination and ground support by Kanuth Adventure Safaris.
