Dear [Name],
Thank you very much for contacting DAN LALIBELA TOURS.
Below is a sample itinerary I propose for your visit to the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela and a trek to Asheton Maryam Monastery.
**Day 1:**
* Fly to Lalibela. On arrival, our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the town.
* After lunch, start exploring the magnificent rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, often referred to as "the living wonders of the world." These churches have stood for over 900 years and are still active centers of Christian worship and spirituality.
* You'll visit the Northwestern Cluster, including Bet Medhane Alem, Bet Maryam, Bet Meskel, Bet Danaghel, Bet Mikael & Golgotha.
* Overnight stay: Harbe Hotel, Lalibela
**Day 2:**
* After breakfast, hike to Asheton Maryam Monastery (located 3,200 meters above sea level).
* **Asheton Maryam Monastery**: This monastery was started by King Lalibela and finished under the rule of King Ne’akuto Le’ab (from 1215 to 1255 AD). Although less elaborate architecturally compared to other monasteries within the city, this site provides stunning mountainous vistas. As you make your way up towards the monastery, the landscape grows progressively beautiful; passing quaint countryside hamlets before ascending further into the hills till arriving at the actual monastic complex. It may be quite strenuous climbing uphill, yet definitely worth every effort spent on ascent.
* The monastery continues to operate today, housing a local monk that greets guests warmly showing them around while highlighting religious artifacts like old wooden crosses or even illustrating parts of his bible using vibrant colors along intricately designed pages.
* Lunch provided after visiting the monastery.
